Barbeau, a fifth-year Philosophy student, led the Mustangs in a pair of crucial wins last week as the team battles for an OUA playoff spot. During a 69-66 over the Guelph Gryphons last Wednesday (Feb. 1), Barbeau (Belleville, Ont.) scored a game-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists. The 5-foot-10 guard also scored what proved to be the winning bucket with under 1:30 remaining.
On Saturday (Feb. 4), Barbeau had 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists during Western’s 85-61 win over the Brock Badgers, which put the Mustangs two points out of a playoff spot. The fifth-year senior continues to lead the OUA in scoring at 22.8 ppg, a mark that also ranks third in the country. His 35.5 minutes per game also rank first and third, respectively in the OUA and CIS.
