LONDON, Ont. -- The Western Mustangs men's basketball program is very pleased to announce the commitment of a new recruit -- 6-foot-8 Post Andrew Van Camp (Port Perry, Ont.), who has spent the past two seasons at Kiski Prep in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania.

Considered one of Canada's top big men, Van Camp is No. 29 overall in Hoopstars Canada's High School rankings. He has turned down several NCAA Division I offers to attend Western this fall.

"It’s an honour to become a student athlete at Western and I can’t wait to get started," said Van Camp, whose Kiski Cougars are currently 23-5 in the Interstate Preparatory League. "I am extremely excited to be a part of the Western Basketball program."

Mustangs head coach Brad Campbell is equally excited to welcome a player of Van Camp's calibre to the Western program.

"He is an outstanding talent, and he addresses a major need for us," Campbell said. "He will make an immediate impact on our young and developing team with his combination of size and skill. We are very excited about Andrew's commitment."

Stay tuned for more Mustangs recruiting news in the weeks to come.
