Mustangs Fall to Lancers

LONDON, Ont. – Enrico Di Loreto had a game-high 26 points Wednesday night to help lead the visiting Windsor Lancers to a 79-62 win over the Western Mustangs at Alumni Hall.

With the win, the Lancers improved to 10-3 on the season, which puts them in a tie for second in the OUA’s West division. The Mustangs, meanwhile, fell to 4-9.

Windsor built an eight-point lead after one quarter and a 13-point lead at the half before surging ahead by 27 after three quarters, 69-42.

Di Loreto went 8-of-15 from the field, including 6-for-8 from three-point range en route to his game-high 26 points. Josh Collins had 15 points and a team-high five assists for Windsor, while Lien Phillip had 10 points and five rebounds.

Ryan Barbeau led the Mustangs in scoring with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting. Jermaine Bernard had 10 points, five rebounds and a team-high six assists.

The Windsor men shot 44.4% (28-for-63) overall, and 46.4% (13-for-28) from three-point range, while the Mustangs were just 36.6% (26-for-71) overall and an anemic 13.8% (4-for-29) from beyond the arc. Neither team shot well from the free throw line, as the Lancers were an even 50% (10-for-20) and Western was 46.2% (6-for-13).

The Mustangs (4-9) are back in action this Saturday, Jan. 21, when they’ll host the Laurier Golden Hawks (11-2) at 3:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall.. For tickets, click here. That game will also available via Live Stream at: http://www.ssncanada.ca/game/2982
