Both teams are coming off a pair of losses. The Mustangs dropped two on the road to Lakehead over the weekend, 91-73 on Friday night, and 87-66 on Saturday night. The Gryphons, meanwhile, also dropped two road games to start 2012, losing 77-74 to Brock and 70-59 to Windsor. Prior to that, however, the Guelph men had been a perfect 4-0 on the road. Western, meanwhile, is 3-1 at home so far in 2011-12. The Mustangs are in the basement of the OUA's tough West division, but just two games behind the Gryphons.

The Mustangs come into Wednesday's contest with an edge in the shooting department. Western is 44.6% from the field overall and 40.3% from three-point range, which ranks seventh in the CIS. They're also 5th in the nation in attempts and third in three-point makes. Guelph, meanwhile, has posted a 41.7% mark from the field overall this season, and 33.3% from beyond the arc. The Gryphons' strength is in its rebounding, especially on the offensive glass, where they rank seventh in the CIS with 13.7 offensive rebounds per game.
